+ HOW DO I TURN ON MY BAND?

+ TELL ME ABOUT THE GEMIO BAND LIGHT EFFECTS

Your Gemio Band is beautiful all by itself, and ships with 8 default light effects: Sun, Earth, Fire, Water, Wind, Music, Meteor and Galaxy. Cycle through the light effects by pressing the Band button. Each effect has different color and pattern characteristics, and responds differently to sound/music, shaking and Band rotation. For example, Water will flow when rotated, and Fire will spark when shaken. The Music pattern will be the most obviously reactive to sound. You can change the effects’ brightness levels and base colors using the Gemio App.

+ HOW DO I USE MY GEMIO BAND, TILE SETS AND GEMIO APP?

For the full Gemio experience, you will need a Gemio Band, Tile Sets, and a Gemio App.

Download the Gemio App from the Apple App Store or Google Play. You will be able to control the lights on your Band with the app after they are paired. Please see below.

+ HOW DO I PAIR MY GEMIO APP TO THE GEMIO BAND?

For iOS... Turn on your Band and put it close to your phone (we recommend having your Band on its charger). In the App, go to the Profile page and Sign In. Go to the Lights view, and Tap to add a Band at the top of the screen. Select the Band on the following page, give it a name and pair it to the app, pressing the Band button when prompted. Note that the app may prompt you to install a firmware update for the Band. Firmware updates improve the Band’s stability and sometimes add new features so you will want to do this.

For Android… Turn on your Band and put it close to your phone (we recommend having your Band on its charger). Launch your app and click Start Click Sign Up to register using your Google ID. This is required to pair your app with your Band. After registration, the app will scan for Bands. Your Band will flash when it is found. Give the Band a name and complete the pairing instructions in the app. Note that the app may prompt you to install a firmware update for the Band. Firmware updates improve the Band’s stability and sometimes add new features so you will want to do this.

+ DO THE TILES ONLY GO ON ONE WAY? WHICH WAY IS THE TOP?

Yes, all the tiles only go on one way as not all art designs are symmetrical. Orient your Band so that the middle tile is on “top” and the Band button is on the left. The end tile with the hole in it goes over the button. The side tiles only go one way - be sure to align the double-notches on the Band with the the double-tabs on the tile. + ANY OTHER TIPS FOR CHANGING TILES?

Remember that the “side tiles” only go on one way. This is because the tile patterns aren’t necessarily symmetrical. If the tile doesn’t seem to fit, check that the single or double notches underneath are aligned with the single or double tabs accordingly. There should be a slight gap visible between each tile - don’t try to push them flush next to each other.

+ WILL MY BAND CHARGE WITH 110V AND 220V?

The charger comes with a standard usb cable. You must provide a usb socket such as a phone charger, or a computer, or a standalone usb charger.

+ I LOST MY CHARGER. CAN I BUY ANOTHER ONE?

+ HOW LONG WILL THE BATTERY LAST?

Gemio has double batteries to extend its life but the total battery life will depend on how constantly the light effects are playing. For example, Fire is a more active effect than Galaxy and will use more battery. You should plan on dropping it onto the wireless charger nightly. Charging from empty will take about 3 hours.

+ DOES MY PHONE’S BLUETOOTH NEED TO BE ON IF I WANT TO WEAR MY BAND AT A CONCERT?

If you just want to pulse to the beat, it doesn’t. If you want to connect to change an effect’s colors, then yes.

+ IS GEMIO WATERPROOF?

No. Gemio is water resistant. Sweating on the dance floor should be no problem but don’t go skinny dipping in any fountains. Contact us before traveling to Atlantis.

+ WHAT IS A BAND FIRMWARE UPDATE?

This will update the software that runs on your Band. This is a good thing as it will improve the Band’s stability and, depending on the particular update, could add new capabilities like effects or social features.

+ SO WHAT CAN I DO TO THE EFFECTS WITH MY APP?

You can use the Lights screen to apply an effect to your Band, change the base color or the effect, reset the default color, or change the brightness of the effect (Note: in the Android App, the brightness control is on the Settings screen).

+ CAN I CONTROL MORE THAN ONE BAND AT ONCE?

You can pair many Bands to your App. However, when you apply an effect only the current active Band will receive it. You can change the current active Band easily in the Lights screen in iOS and in the Bands screen in Android.


troubleshooting


+ WHAT VERSION OF APPLE/ANDROID PHONES WORK WITH MY BAND?

Your Gemio Band is beautiful and fun without a smartphone. With a smartphone, you can do more with your Band, like controlling the light effects, setting your Band to a specific color, and lots of secret features coming soon! The phone will require Bluetooth 4.0 (For iPhones, any model 4S or later, for Android you’ll have to check your specifications). iOS 10 or later, Android 4.4 or later.

+ HOW DO I UNPAIR MY BAND FROM MY PHONE?

iOS… From the Lights view, tap the Band name, then the right caret to see the Band details. Choose the “Forget Band” button. You will want to hard reset the Band at that point as described below and remove the Band from your phone’s Bluetooth settings.

Android… From the Bands screen, tap the edit icon by the Band name, then choose Unpair Band. You will want to hard reset the Band at that point as described below and remove the Band from your phone’s Bluetooth settings (the App may remove it for you on many phone models).

+ I THINK MY BAND OR APP IS MISBEHAVING.

If you are using the Band without the App, check the following… Try clicking the Band button to select a new light effect. If that doesn’t work, try turning your Band off (hold down the button until it turns off), wait a few seconds, then turn it back on. If that doesn’t work, try a “hard reset” of the Band as described below.

If you are using the App with the Band, check the following… If you can’t connect, try turning off your Band and restarting it right before trying to pair in the App. If that doesn’t work, try turning off and restarting your phone’s Bluetooth. You can also try shutting down and restarting your App. If you want to try a completely clean slate: forget any successfully connected Bands in the App, sign out of the app, forget any Bands in the phone’s Bluetooth devices, uninstall the app, and hard reset your Band. Then, reinstall the App, start your App, restart your Band and follow the pairing instructions.

+ HARD RESET OF Band

This will erase all user data from the Band. While the Band is on, hold down the Band button for 10 seconds, until the red LED light on the opposite side of the Band from the Band button blinks. The Band will restart at that point, showing the power level light effect and then the Galaxy light effect.

+ I GOT A NEW PHONE. HOW DO I USE MY EXISTING GEMIO BAND?

You will need to: unpair your Band from your old phone, forget the Band in your phone’s Bluetooth settings, hard reset your Band and then pair your Band with your App on your new phone.

+ I GOT A NEW EMAIL. HOW DO I USE MY EXISTING GEMIO BAND?

You will need to: Sign out of the app, hard reset your Band, Sign back into your App with your new info, and re-pair your Band. Depending on your phone model, resetting your phone’s Bluetooth may also be helpful.

+ HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO PROCESS RETURNS?

Please allow three weeks from the time you mail your return for us to process and issue the refund to your original form of payment.

+ HOW WILL I KNOW WHEN MY ORDER IS SHIPS?

We'll send you a shipping confirmation email when your order has shipped. The email will contain tracking information and a link to the carrier's website showing your package's progress. You can also click the "Account" link on our website to see your order history and fulfillment status, and click the order number to see shipping dates and tracking information.

+ WHY ISN'T MY ORDER BEING PROCESSED?

There are a few reasons why you might be having difficulty placing your order. We might be experiencing a technical issue, or there might be a problem with your card. Please contact us at [email protected] with the error message and/or reference number you're seeing.

+ WHAT PAYMENTS / CREDIT CARDS DO YOU ACCEPT?

Gemio accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, JCB, Discover, and Diners Club, plus debit/ATM cards issued by one of these credit card companies. We also accept PayPal.

+ WHAT IS GEMIO’S RETURN POLICY?

Gemio accepts returns if postmarked within 30 days of receipt of the original shipment. To qualify for a refund, all the following conditions must be met: A return authorization must be requested from our customer service team within 30 days of your purchase date. To request a return authorization, please contact Customer Service at [email protected]. You must return the Product to Gemio to receive a refund. Returned Product(s) must be in good physical condition (not physically broken or damaged). All accessories originally included with your purchase must be included with your return. The return authorization number must be included along with your returned product. If you return Product to Gemio (a) without a return authorization from Gemio or (b) without all parts and accessories originally included with your purchase, Gemio retains the right to either refuse acceptance of such a return and reship it back to the buyer or charge you a restocking fee of 25% of the original price of the Product(s) or the retail value of the missing parts and accessories, whichever is higher. Please include your original packing slip for efficient processing. We recommend that you use a shipping service with tracking and/or insurance. Gemio does not accept COD deliveries and is not responsible for lost shipments.Outbound shipping charges will be withheld from the refund amount. Items originally received in damaged or nonworking condition are covered by our One-Year Limited Warranty; please contact us at [email protected] to arrange an exchange. Shipping within the USA (except Alaska and Hawaii) Within the USA, take advantage of Free shipping on orders of $90 or more. On orders below $90 we apply a $7.99 USD flat rate for each online order.

Shipping within Alaska and Hawaii Within Alaska and Hawaii, take advantage of Free shipping on orders of $120 or more. On orders below $120 we apply a $19 USD flat rate for each online order.

Shipping within Canada and Mexico Within Canada and Mexico, take advantage of Free shipping on orders of $150 or more. On orders below $150 we apply a $20 USD flat rate for each online order.

Shipping outside of North America Flat rate, $30 shipping applies to any sized order shipped outside North America or to Mexico. If your shipping address is outside of North America, or in Mexico, you can take advantage of this low flat rate.

Gemio cannot be responsible for any international custom and duty fees, taxes, or brokerage fees assessed by the carrier. These fees are in addition to, and not included in, the cost of shipping. We are obligated to declare all items as merchandise and will not mark items as “gift.” We cannot be liable for any delays due to packages held at customs.
